Technical Writers for Microprocessors,
Semiconductors, and Software

We specialize in writing and editing technical documents about microprocessors, SoCs, semiconductors, and software. We create documents based on your engineering specifications, interviews with your engineers, prior drafts, and our own technical knowledge.

Our services consist of original writing, editing, and illustration. We start from your engineering specifications, rough drafts, patents, industry journals, or prior versions of documents, if you have them. Otherwise, we create drafts entirely from interviews with your product's architect, designer, or product manager.

We begin by assembling and reading your source material, or by conducting interviews. In doing this, we not only gain an understanding of your product from your customers' viewpoint, but we also identify inconsistencies and missing parts in your source material. We create figures and tables that illuminate the features of your product. We are skilled at asking in-depth questions about microprocessors, SoCs, semiconductors, and software.

We study source material carefully, looking for clarity of content and organization, accuracy, completeness, and consistency. We engage in question-answer exchanges to ensure that we understand your product. For software, we may also use your product to experience it directly, the way your customers experience it. We anticipate and answer questions that your customers will ask.

When we understand your product and your customers' expectations, we assemble our notes and begin writing. We describe your product in a manner that can be quickly recognized and used by your customers. We strive for documents that are accurate and complete. We organize content in a manner that is familiar to engineers working in your industry. Our documents are readable by engineers who have learned English as a second language.

We work from our own office. Depending on your location, interviews can be done at your site or by telephone or email. We use most of the common editing and graphics tools, including Word, FrameMaker, PowerPoint, Visio, Illustrator, and Photoshop. We save drafts in .pdf format for your review and posting on your website. You own the copyright to all documents we write for you.

We can start small, on tens of pages, so that you can quickly experience the pace, style, and quality of our work. And we can work large, on documents of several thousand pages.
